Redline 53 Manual
I just picked mine up yesterday, VERY nice TT. First thing I did was check run out on the crank. Dialed in at a perfect ZERO. Best I ever got out of a hyper was.006. The crank and con rod look to be very well made as well. As does the head and piston. Ran a tank through it, even rich you can tell its going to be strong.
Apr 24, 2008 I saw the TT Redline engine and I am just wondering when I upgrade my 30 to a 50 if I should go for this engine or the OS 50 Hyper? The TT engine. RedLine.53 Engine for Helicopter. And MUCH smoother than a hyper. It has a different tone to it also, more of a growl to it. Cant wait to get a few more tanks through it so I can beat it up. I just hope it runs consistent unlike TTs in the past. One other thing I noticed that I REALLY like, Its has a 3 year warranty.
Way to go TT. **Unattended children will be givin a shot of espresso and a puppy** Quote. Well, several reasons. First, the YS50 has been giving me hell tuning problems.
I'm at the point now I've pulled it out and put in an OS Hyper 50. Second is that the 3 year warranty sounds very, very good!! Third, I hear this Redline engine has some great power and torque, better than the OS Hyper 50. Fuel Natural Selection Rapidshare. I haven't ordered it yet, but very tempted to do so and give it a shot.OK let me see if I've got this straight in my mind. The YS makes insane power but ya can't get it tuned to suit you so would that be right?
Secondly, while you get the YS sorted out you decide to put that fleatrap OS back in just so you can fly? Would that be right as well? I'm just trying to figure this one out so I can better understand going forward. I've got 2 of the Redlines that will be here on Tuesday and all I can say is they better run like scalded apes, otherwise I'm not going to be happy paying OS money and not getting OS performance.

That is funny man. Im not into crazy 3D flying, and just do basic sport flying right now, so the OS Hyper will be just fine. I think all I really need is a new check valve for the YS50 to tune right. But I'm not about to ruin another weekend trying to figure it out.
I really want to just be able to fly, and I know the OS would do it. Hopefully the Redline will be a dream to tune. Killer Beam E4 450 Check out my HD Gallery Quote.
Thought it was rich. Was making a ton of smoke!Ok. There has to be some starting point otherwise you wouldn't know whether to start at 2 turns or 5. As it turns out 7 turns out wouldn't have helped as the key seems to be in the idle mixture at hover RPM not the main needle to keep the engine well lubed. Virtual Midi Patch Cable.
Not well documented at all. I've run OS 50's, 55's and 91 and never had this problem in the past with those engines.Their break in settings per the manual are right on. I did take the back plate off to inspect and everything looked good before I ran it.I didn't X-Ray it for defects and stress cracks though.:-) Sorry if I sound aggravated tonight but was trying to get a little more HP for the weekend and all I ended up with was burning $229 w/ nothing more than about 10 seconds in the air. My engine looked just like the pictures posted earlier after the flight. Bushing gone from the connecting rod.Sounds like either bad instructions or a defect or maybe some of both? I have to wonder if these settings are so rich that they are hydro-locking!
On stock settings it is so rich in the mid range that the fuel can't atomize and it seems as though it is lean when it comes down from a punch out because the liquid fuel can not burn! What pipe are you using? TMoore, Have you run the 56 at close to sea level on 30% with no added shims? I run the shims and the motor delivers very good power with my favorite plug for the redlines, The McCoy MC8! If I can get more power with better squish clearance then the OS55 is going to look pretty lame! Recover from what? I have no problems with my 56, It's stronger than the OS55 I gave to a friend!
You will have to get your throttle curve close to 50% and perhaps even less at hover or you will never get the mid range right! My throttle curve is P-L 0 0 P-1 25 33 P-2 50 40 P-3 75 50 P-4 87 60 P-H 100 100 This is for hover at 3/4 stick with a linear pitch curve.
