(gift certificate, no choice, really.) ) It was the last model they had, the display model, so they sold it to me at a bit of a discount.
(mistake #2?) Anyhow. They got rid of their demo software and now I have this nice, new cpu. It won't allow me to play Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne online. First, I was getting this error anytime I tried to connect to Battle. Activar Windows 7 Ultimate Loader Extreme Edition. net via FT (Frozen Throne): There was an error writing to your hard drive while trying to download a file from Battle.net. You may need to free some space. Please check your hard drive and try again. That occurred because there's an update for Battle.net that must be downloaded (dl-ed) and installed for FT to work online, but it wasn't being allowed to dl.
There's no way I've filled the memory on the computer. Trying to fix the problem, I dl-ed the patch directly from the web. Now, when I try running the.exe file for the patch, there's an error that comes up in THAT program as well: ERROR: unable to create file 'C: Program Files (x86) Warcraft III BNUpdate.exe' Access is denied. RESULT: Prepatch failed.
Now, from exactly this point as I type this, I'm at pretty well a total loss. My only guess is the security on the computer is way too high. And I have no idea how to lower it and allow the FULL use of this computer. Even as I cut and pasted the Error: Result: message, I was prompted to decide whether or not to allow the web site access to my clipboard! Now, I'm the only person that will be using this computer, so I feel that I don't really need all the security there seems to be. If someone, ANYONE AT ALL is able to help me fix this, aside from telling me the obvious, to return it or take it back to the store, I would really appreciate it.

I managed to find a friend more familiar with vista who was able to tell me step by step how to get to the admin level access, as well as a couple minor details as well such as the windows firewall (which is new to me). The patch I was trying to install, I don't know what happened, but out of nowhere last night, it worked. BEFORE I had admin access, so I'm not going to try to figure out how, I'll just be thankful it worked. This was simply a matter of my lack of understanding the oprating system, but I think I'm in the clear now, thank you.
