Hi, I am new to DataEase, my boss asked me to convert a DataEase 4.53 database to Access. I learned from this user group, one of the choices is to use DataGrab to extract all the data and convert it into CSV files. Chop Cup Routine Pdf. I have downloaded the DataGrab.exe, when I ran it, it asked me to find the database, but I don't know where is the database is stored? Could anyone help me what is the default DataEase 4.53 database file extension, how to know where it is located and how to know where is the data stored? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! RE: Help on DataEase Ver.
4.53 please!!!!!!!! (TechnicalUser) 7 May 03 16:35. Unlike Access, DataEase stores the data in mulitple files, one per table. The data files will have an extension of.dbm. Paul Creston Saxophone Sonata Program Notes. Each DataEase application contains all the forms, tables, reports and so on, and should be in its own folder, although some people have been know to put multiple apps into the same folder, or even the one where the DataEase executables are located. The application folder will have ALL the files germane to the app.
The main repository file of a DataEase application is called RDRRxAAA.DBM, where 'x' is a letter between A to Z and uniquely identifies the database. In order to locate the data folder, simply search for all files called RDRR*.dbm. Don't forget to double-check the date format used when DataGrab pulls the information out of DataEase. Date formats (mm/dd/yy vs dd/mm/yy vs I forget the third one) are controlled by DataEase, and don't follow the ones set for Windows applications in the Control Panel. Before you start importing data into Excel or Access, ensure that your PC's control panel settings for date are the SAME as the one used by DataEase for exporting the data, otherwise you'll be in deep doo-doo. Hi, LawrenceFox: Thank you very much! You put me on the right track! I have another question regarding to DataGrab. I have download DataGrab.exe, when I double-clicked on this file, it pops up a dialog, there are two buttons(Find Database; Quit) and some check boxes, when I clicked on the 'Find Database' button, and point to the directory where my DataEase files stored, nothing displayed. Is this the right way to use DataGrab? Thank you for your time, I appreciate your kind help! RE: Help on DataEase Ver.

I would be incredibly grateful if anyone could shed light on the following: 'Resource you have requested in Currently in use' This error message is cropping up on some users machines when they try to log on to a DataEase Database (4.53 for DOS), on one of the network installations of DataEase I am currently supporting. The full message is: 'The resource you have requested is Currently in use: Waiting RDR Relation Form Definition 7 attempts to access Resource (The number then grows to 8,9,10, 14, 19 attempts etc.) Press Esc to Abort' That's the message essentially, and the only way to continue is indeed to press ESC. The user is then unable to log on to the database. I was wondering if anyone had seen this before, and where the heck I could begin? The message is random, and does not always happen when someone else is logged on to the database, so it does not SEEM to be a multi-user/Licence problem (although this could in some sense have something to do with it).
